Yardley Arts holds successful first Summer Exhibition

Yardley Arts welcomed over 600 visitors to its exhibition, whose theme was gardens and landscapes and featured the work by seven artists: Charlotte Cornish, Claire Denny, Nicky Hunter, Johan, Gerald Porter, Chris Richbell and Anna Steiner. The exhibition started with a sociable preview evening and fundraiser, where attendees enjoyed viewing the art and meeting the artists. We had quite a few sales at the event too!

Then the exhibition was open to the general public and visitors came from a wide area. On Friday, we welcomed the classes from the village primary school who asked lots of great questions about the art on show, and then invited the Yardley Arts team to view their own impressive art in their classrooms. Naturally, we went along and found out the school was quite a tardis, once you get inside! On the Saturday, there was a steady stream of visitors all day, with many commenting positively on what they saw.

So grateful to have Yardley Arts.

Then on the Sunday, Yardley Arts took part in the village’s Open Gardens event, as we had created our own small garden with the help of Acorn MK Nurseries and Oakfield Community next door who created the pretty planters. This was a hugely popular event and visitors enjoyed seeing our artists in both village gardens and our own garden creating wonderful pieces.

At the end of the day, Yardley Arts hosted the post event reception for the Open Gardeners who were able to view the artists’ work - and take a well-earned rest after all their hard work.

Overall the exhibition has been a great success, with the art much admired and quite a few pieces purchased too. Many people have now discovered Yardley Arts, and plan to attend courses. Thanks to all the artists, volunteers, visitors and buyers who made it such a great event. Also a big shout out to those who gave us great prizes for our fundraising raffle. These include: Daily Bread in Northampton, Jeyes Cafe and Pink Rose Beauty in Earls Barton, amongst others.
