Artemisia Gentileschi at the National Gallery, London

If like us, you were looking forward to the much-anticipated blockbuster exhibition of the female, Italian Renaissance artist, Artemisia Gentileschi, only to have your hopes dashed by Covid-19, you can now at least see some of it online. Take a look at this video of Ben Luke of the Art Newspaper, as he previews the show and talks to its curator, Letizia Treves. Or, for just £8, you can join the exhibition’s curator on a 30-minute guided tour. Check out the National Gallery website for more details.

Summer exhibition at the royal academy of arts, london

Or maybe you missed the Royal Academy of Arts’ annual Summer (Winter) Exhibition in 2020, as you didn’t want to visit London during the pandemic. Well, you don’t have to travel, as the Royal Academy has made this available to view online, giving you a virtual tour round all of the halls. It’s almost an hour long, so get comfy with your favourite drink … and enjoy!

Grayson’s art club exhibition at Manchester Art Gallery

Many of you will have followed Grayson Perry’s Art Club during the first lockdown in 2020. At Yardley Arts, we all loved it and many of us thought it some of the best TV made. During the series, the Turner prize winner potter invited members of the public and a few celebrity friends to produce artwork inspired by their experiences of the lockdown. From the entries submitted, Grayson (and his wife, Philippa) selected pieces to display at a professionally curated exhibition to be held at Manchester Art Gallery. But before any of us could get to see it, Covid got in the way. So why not take a virtual tour with the exhibition’s curators, Natasha Howes and Fiona Corridan until, hopefully, one day soon, we can get to see it in person. Oh - and don’t forget - series 2 of Grayson’s Art Club runs from February and is open for submissions. Get creative folks!
