Spend a day at our stained glass workshop in a beautiful rural setting. Create a stained glass panel of approximately A4 size, using traditional tools and methods. Discover the art of traditional leaded stained glass, as used in cathedrals, churches and houses across the UK. Led by a qualified and experienced teacher, learn traditional techniques and craft your own glass panel to hang in a window or display in the garden.

Explore the fundamentals of stained glass art, from glass selection to cutting, shaping, and assembling. Our immersive approach ensures you gain confidence as you learn, and our supportive and skilled instructor will be there to guide you at every step.

Design Diversity: Unleash your creativity with a variety of patterns and designs, from traditional to contemporary. Craft a piece that reflects your unique style and imagination.

Tools and Techniqes: Learn the art of glass cutting, “leading up”, soldering and finishing under the guidance of a seasoned professional. Master the techniques that will bring your glass creation to life.

Perfect for all skill levels: Whether you're a complete beginner curious to explore a new craft, or an artist seeking to refine your skills, this workshop caters to all levels. Our tailored approach and commitment to small class sizes ensures everyone finds a supportive atmosphere and will find their creative rhythm.

Please note that we are unable to offer this course to pregnant women or nursing mothers.

What you need to bring

  • Please ensure you wear clothing suitable for crafting & sensible footwear (no open toed shoes)

  • A clean rag or dishcloth (microfibre is good)

  • A bag to take completed work home in

  • Don’t forget to bring your glasses if you use them for close work!

About the tutor

With fifteen years of experience as a dedicated primary and secondary teacher in Cambridge, Will brings his passion for education and creativity into the realm of stained glass artistry. Will's journey from the classroom to the studio has been driven by his deep-rooted love for nurturing both young minds and artistic talents.

As a part-time artist throughout his teaching career, Will cultivated his skills and discovered a profound connection with the colours and beauty of stained glass. Now, he has taken the leap to fully embrace his artistic calling and teaches courses full time.

Will is dedicated to sharing the art of stained glass through courses and workshops. His background in education, combined with his artistic skills ensures that every course attendee is well looked after. Will's caring and patient approach, honed from years of teaching, creates a learning space where creativity flourishes and individuals of all skill levels can explore the beauty of stained glass in a supportive environment.
