Ever wanted to learn how to make a seasonal wreath?

Come and make your own using foraged and natural materials.

At our class you will learn to make a beautiful door garland for your front door – equally suitable for a gate or wall. Jane will demonstrate how to make your Christmas door wreath using willow to form the main structure. Then, step by step, you’ll add different materials to create depth and visual points of interest.

We will be using a mixture of willow, natural foliage, dried fruits, ribbons and other decorative adornments with all materials included.

Come and enjoy a few hours in our beautiful space at Yardley Arts, with Mulled wine (including non-alcoholic) and minced pies along the way!

Each person will have their own work-station so social distancing can be maintained.

The heating will be on but do wear an extra layer to allow for a drop in temperature at this time of year – Christmas jumpers permitted!

No experience necessary.

Great fun. Beautiful results!

What to bring

• An apron (or wear comfortable clothes)

• Secateurs

• Gloves (optional)

• Your own embellishments/decorations (if you wish)

• Wires/Willow, moss, twine, foliage, ribbons, scissors (right-handed).

About the tutor

Jane’s work is inspired by natural materials and making and photographing the results. After studying Fine Art at Northampton University, Jane worked as a contemporary freelance arts worker delivering contemporary art exhibitions. Since the mid 2000s she has worked on various community arts projects, including the Yardley Hastings Lantern Parade. Jane is a founder of Yardley Arts and has recently exhibited at the South Northants Arts Trail with her willow creations.
