Whether you are new to jewellery making or would like some workshop time to improve your skills, this course run by Beccy Gillatt is for you. It's a multi-session course where you will work on your own project and be guided with 1:1 support and demonstrations each week. Each term will cover three or more techniques to inspire you. Sundries are included like solder, flux and base metals. Precious metals and stones are extra approx. £20 - £40 depending on your designs.

Wednesdays 12.45pm to 2.45pm starting on 25 September for 10 weeks.

Course limit

The course is limited to 10 spaces (maximum). The course is suitable for both total beginners and those with some experience.

What you need to bring:

• An apron (or old clothes)

• Notepad (blank page) or sketchbook

• Pen and pencil

• Any jewellery that you have made before

• Textures such as skeleton leaves, fabric off cuts, textured paper

What to wear

Please make sure that you have a hairband to tie your hair back and do not wear floaty skirts, really loose fitting clothes, scarves or open toe shoes, as we will be in a workshop environment. We will use torches and some acids, which can damage clothes so an apron or pinny is recommended as well as remembering not to wear your favourite jeans!

What is included

• Use of tools (if you have your own, please do bring them)

• Copper for sampling, consumables like saw blades and solder

• Handouts on processes and techniques

• Facebook page tutorials

What you will make

You will make a range of samples, in copper, using the techniques shown and complete a workbook of processes. You will complete at least two pieces of wearable silver jewellery within the 10 weeks.
