Join friendly and experienced artist and tutor, Nicky Hunter and learn how to paint poppy seed heads in the loose and lively watercolour style.
Using watercolour we will explore texture, tone and experimenting with harmonious colour palates to capture the essence of poppy seed heads, learning new watercolour techniques as we go.
You will be encouraged to experiment with different layouts and scales. Perhaps try one painting in one tonal family of colours at actual size, and another painting with more detail and texture supersized and quite abstract?
Through out the day there will be demos and lots of 1 to 1 guidance to help you progress your painting and develop your watercolour skills.

About the tutor
Nicky Hunter is a textile designer specialising in painting floral patterns for fashion fabrics, you may well have worn one of her designs as she has designed for many well-known brands in the UK and internationally. Her love for floral painting using inks and watercolours in her design work has many admirers and over the past couple of years has been selling work in galleries and teaching watercolour workshops in the Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire.
Now with a regular following of students who love to learn how to paint florals, birds and other beautiful things from nature, Nicky teaches many styles but the loose and lively watercolour style appeals the most to herself and her students. Her teaching style is enthusiastic and generous, and you are sure to enjoy and develop your techniques working with her, whether you wish to build on some basic experience and refine your painting skills or liberate them and become freer with your floral painting.
