This workshop with Cathy Burnett is suitable for all abilities and allows you to work at your own pace with general teaching and personalised tutoring as required. There will be an emphasis on expressive, experimental approaches to drawing, with an aim to produce a range of pieces with guidance during the day.
Exemplar material will be provided, with demonstrations on the effective use of a combined range of materials. You will each be given stimulus material to interpret and encouraged to develop this in a personal manner.
What to bring
It would be helpful to bring along your own glue-stick.
We suggest that you bring an apron and your own hand wipes, as working expressively can be messy, and this will save too much walking back and forth to the sink.
Many people have acquired art materials and are unsure about their usage. If that's you, feel free to bring these along and increase your understanding of their potential.
What’s included
All necessary basic materials will be provided (including wet and dry media), a small range of acrylic paints (for creating backgrounds), drawing ink, graphite stick, gouache, watercolours, oil pastels and assorted paper.
You are very welcome to supplement this with your own favourite media, and in light of the current situation, we understand that some people may prefer to use their own equipment.
Cost
£67.50 per person. Suitable for ages 16+. Spaces limited to 8. Experience is not necessary as support and guidance will be on hand. If you have creative experience, you will have the opportunity to apply and develop your media handling, colour selection and compositional skills.
