Like to produce a small oil sketch of a still life composition in one day. On this short course, you will learn how to set up subject matter, prepare boards, chose composition, understand and describe value, and apply colour. It involves demonstration, tuition and critique.
The course is led by Penny German, a Northamptonshire artist who used to specialise in botanical illustration in watercolour, working on projects for the RHS and Oxford University Press. Ten years ago she discovered a love of oil painting and has since been working to capture the effects of light in still life and portraits.
