This 4-week block with tutor Cathy Burnett offers you a chance to start or develop a creative project alongside fellow creatives, with a tutor at hand. Cathy will get the ball rolling with advice and inspiration, helping you achieve your creative goals with tailored support and guidance.
At Yardley Arts, we offer the space to create in a wonderfully light and relaxed environment.
It’s simple – just bring the artwork of your choice, share the space with other creatives and get stuck in. Whatever your choice of activity, we should be able to accommodate you.
You can work at a table, or an easel and we can provide basic art materials if you have forgotten something.
If you’ve already attended art classes and need encouragement to continue, then this could be the class for you.
If you are a complete beginner, then Cathy will be ready with an activity which will enable you to make a start. With tutor guidance and the companionship of other creative people, you should soon build the confidence to develop your own projects.
What to bring
Your own art materials such as paints, paper/sketchbooks, pencils, brushes and a palette.
Preparation – make the most of the class by thinking through what you would like to achieve. You may like to work from your own photographs or images, try and make sure that you give yourself every chance of success by ensuring your reference material is of good quality. You are welcome to work from an image on an iPad or tablet.
What’s included
WiFi.
A good variety of art books for reference.
We are happy to make a selection of art materials available to you from our store at Yardley Arts at no additional cost, but we do not stock everything!
Refreshments will be served half-way through the morning - a chance to take a break and get to know your fellow creatives.
Cathy will be responding to individual requirements and will not provide a structured lesson plan.
If you want to produce work that is way beyond your current skill set, we advise that you attend one of our short courses first, to give you a good level of foundation in that medium.
