Looking to improve and develop your drawing? Or make studies from the figure? Or simply love life drawing?

Sara Myers’ Saturday life drawing is a relaxed and friendly untutored life drawing group with professional models and lighting, set in our stunning main studio. Each event has a different model and theme carefully chosen to inspire and enhance your drawing skills.

AM - Emma. Take the challenge of capturing our fab model Emma in a repeating short pose cycle for the first half, then static pose for 2 x 30 minutes to focus in on a more detailed study after the break.

PM - Keith. This is a fabulous chance for a longer life drawing study. With an hour-long pose, people often take the opportunity to make a colour study. Our talented model Keith will do a warm up set and then 2 long poses.

Suitable for beginners and more experienced artists alike, working in various styles and media.

As a general rule these classes run two Saturdays in every month, either with morning and afternoon sessions which can be booked individually, or all day life drawing events.

There is such a vibrant and inspiring atmosphere at Sara’s life drawing sessions. Sara manages to provide a relaxed yet focussed venue, and it’s a real treat for me to become totally absorbed in drawing for a couple of hours. Fellow artists are welcoming, models experienced, and there are always plenty of materials. I’ve discovered new skills through experimenting and discussion. The biscuits are good, too!

how to book

Contact Sara Myers directly at  studio@saramyers.co.uk or 07849 333652 or download the App MeetUp onto your device via the App Store and sign up at SmArt, Drawing and Sculpting from the Figure. This is where you can see all Sara’s events at different venues, get notifications and sign up.

Payment secures the booking, and restricted numbers mean it’s not drop in or pay at the door event. Please don't hesitate to contact Sara by text or email if you have any concerns or questions.

Sara’s is the best class I’ve experienced. Her approach to teaching and supporting her students allowed me to develop at my own pace while pushing me (gently) to try new approaches. Also, Yardley Arts is an amazing venue, far superior to that of any class I’ve been to, including a good university life drawing class.

about the tutor

Sara Myers is a freelance sculptor based in Milton Keynes. Sara apprenticed for a short time with well known figurative sculptors Edward Russell, Lorne Mckean and John Doubleday after which she went back to school studying Fine Art Sculpture in London, followed a little later by a Masters in New York.

As well as studying, Sara exhibited and worked in New York and had a studio in Harlem. During this time she worked producing prototypes for Warner Bros and sculpted for an Artist, which developed into a long relationship that resulted in running her studio in Soho (Manhattan). After 5 years Sara returned to the Uk and rented a barn to make sculptures.
