On this one-day course, you will experiment with a rich variety of materials and mediums to make vibrant and colourful collage papers that we will then use to decorate a simple handmade paper sketchbook.

You will spend the morning making collage papers using rice, tissue and deli papers, trying out different techniques  such as mono-printing, brushwork, stencils, stamping and rollers. You will explore mark making, patterns, colour and shapes using paints, inks, gold leaf, acrylic pens and more.

In the afternoon you will look at a variety of different handmade sketchbooks and the different ways you can use them. You will make a simple paper concertina sketchbook and use your collage papers to start to decorate it.
