About the tutor

Jane creating with willow

Jane lives and works in Yardley Hastings. Her creative work is inspired by working with natural materials and researching traditional basketry.  She is a member of the Basketmakers Association.

After leaving University Jane worked as a contemporary freelance arts worker delivering contemporary art exhibitions in non gallery spaces.

Since the mid 2000’s she has worked on various community arts projects, including the Yardley Hastings Lantern Parade.  She runs willow weaving workshops in her studio and takes on commissions for larger sculptural animals!

You can find more about Jane on her Facebook Page (Jane Roberts Arts) or Instagram (@janeroberts696)

I really enjoyed the day, something I hadn’t done before. Jane was really good, demonstrated each process and went around helping us all, to see if we needed help. When I arrived, Jane was very nice and explained a few things about what to expect from the day. Jane was very well organised with everything in place for each person
